Current Phase of restoration

On October 31st, the Friends hosted a kick-off event for the restoration of the train station. Here are some photos from that day. The city of Aberdeen and Harford County Government are supporting the restoration of this historic site. In attendance were County Executive Bob Cassilly, State Delegate Steve Johnson and Aberdeen Mayor Patrick McGrady.
Work that will be completed over the next several months includes a new slate roof, new cedar shake siding, restoration and replacement of brick veneer, restoration and replacement of windows and doors, eaves, cresting, finials, gutters and downspouts, trim, beadboard ceiling, and structural repairs to the freight room.
As of March 2024,  the missing eaves have been replaced, lead abatement completed, doors and windows are being restored, new cedar shake siding is being installed and the stations colors have been selected.
